     Thank you for your visit. Kindly allow us to introduce ourselves. Originally from Limeira, SP, BRASIL, the cradle of the country's commercial citrus industry, we became established in Casa Branca, SP, in 1985. Most of all, like many others, we are very fond of citriculture as well as our country, with the largest citrus industry in the world.

     José Eduardo O. de Lima, Horticulturist from the Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz, USP (1974). M.Sc.(1980) e Ph. D.(1983) titles in Horticultural Science from the University of Florida , US. He has held positions like the Head of the Technical Department at Fazenda Sete Lagoas , Scientific Researcher at EMBRAPA, Agricultural Manager at Fazendas Jaguarão, and Scientific Director at FUNDECITRUS. One of the objectives of José Eduardo is to cooperate with the scientific research in citrus in Brasil. He has lately dedicated himself to developing new citrus scion and rootstock clones and varieties aiming mostly at disease resistance.

Celso O. de Lima, Horticulturist from the Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias, UNESP (1980). Citrus specialization trips to the United States and South Africa. He worked as Technical Assistant with Manah fertilizers, and as Nursery Tree Production Manager at Bioplanta. Celso has exclusive dedication to AGROCITROS CITROLIMA since 1985. His main objective is to improve all production practices for citrus fruit and nursery trees, in pursue of efficiency and quality. Celso has dedicated himself to the development of techniques which could provide for a reliable supply of Citrus Variegated Chlorosis-free screen-protected budwood, as well as containerized or field-grown citrus trees.

                  José Eduardo Perina de Lima, Citrus specialist graduated from Florida Southern College, Lakeland, FL (1998), Master en Citricultura from Universidad Politecnica de Valencia, Spain (2003). José worked as Pest and Disease Monitor at Haines City Citrus Growers Association, Florida, and as lab/greenhouse assistant at the Citrus Research and Education Center, University of Florida, Lake Alfred. He was responsible for the logistics of producing, storing and delivering citrus trees. José Eduardo is now a voluntary consultant for Citrolima. His full time job is to produce citrus nursery trees at Tree Source Citrus Nursery in Exeter, CA, US.

       AGROCITROS CITROLIMA began working with citrus in 1985, at Casa Branca, SP. Today, the region stands among the largest in citrus area in the State. In the last 18 years the company produced over 8 million citrus nursery trees, and introduced new techniques in the process, as follows:

Rootstock liner production in individual containers, under plastic houses.
Heat treatment of seeds and seed-coat removal before sowing
Budwood production under screen-protected plastic houses.
Heat treatment of budwood for the elimination of the Citrus Variegated Chlorosis bacteria.
Utilization of woodless buds for the elimination of the Citrus Variegated Chlorosis Bacteria.
Long-term cold storage of seeds and budwood.
Nursery tree production in soilless media, under screen-protected plastic houses.
Nursery tree production in "citrivasos", special containers developed by the company.
Own laboratory for foot rot and nematode analyses.
Routine monitoring of foot rot and nematodes in plants and growing media.
Selection of highly productive budwood trees.
Development of hundreds of new rootstocks through selection of mutations, and natural and controlled hybridization.
 
Development of hundreds of new orange, tangerine, and lemon clones and varieties through selection of mutations, and natural and controlled hybridization.
